Let’s Be Busy Beavers this Summer!
Dear Friend,
Beaver is our spirit animal for this month. With his built-in Wisdom, Beaver is always building his home. Like Divine Father, what he builds provides protection, order and structure for his family. Beaver shows us the discipline of a steady presence of work to build and create a pure, clean home that is safe for its family. Indeed, they must work to build each day or their teeth will go through their mouth. The wisdom inherent in them tells them to gnaw on wood each day and to use this wood to build dams in flowing water so that their community of beavers have a safe and healthy place to reproduce and raise their young.
How Can You Build a Healthy Home?
If we are desiring peace, joy, and love in our lives then what must be built is our daily practice. It is through a daily practice that we cultivate balance, joy, and love. We return to our Divine Father and tap into the wisdom that is inside of us and available to each one of us at all times. Beaver wants you to build your Daily Practice and to keep at it on a daily basis.
How can we listen and learn from Beaver?
What needs to be built in your life to allow you a healthy (spiritually, emotionally, physically) "place" to live, work and grow?
And, how does it need to be tended to on a daily basis?
Suggestions:
Set yourself up for success! Create a plan for your Daily Practice to give it structure. A Daily Practice can be simple and short. It isn’t about the amount of time, it is about the tone you set for the day. It is about dialing into your innate Wisdom and listening to its messages for you.
Try this:
In his book, The Miracle Morning, author Hal Elrod offers this handy acronym to help us as we create a plan for our Daily Practice. The acronym is "SAVERS". Below is a suggestion for a Daily Practice that will take only 15 minutes.
SAVERS
Silence - this can be 5 minutes or more of meditation/prayer
Affirmations - a great one is “I am the powerful creator of my own reality.”
Visualization - take a minute to see your day unfolding with ease and success
Exercise - do 3 minutes of stretching, 30 seconds of plank, 20 burpees, and 1 minute of walking in place
Reading - open any book to a random spot and read one page
Scribing - write down 3 things you are grateful for
After you try this for a few days in a row, how are you feeling? Are things going better than they used to? Do you feel inspired, invigorated, more present and aware? What do you notice is different?

Mentioned above, Hal Elrod’s book The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed To Transform Your Life (Before 8AM), is one of my favorite inspirational reads on the power and importance of setting aside time for myself each morning. In his 20’s, Elrod had a Near Death Experience (NDE) after a car crash. After this, it became his mission “to elevate the consciousness of humanity one person at a time and one morning at a time.” I love this because that is my mission, too! I often recommend this book to my clients and I am recommending it to you, too!
